Along the Silk Road to New Markets: 'Xinda Transformer' in Kyrgyzstan
With the aim of deeply integrating into the joint implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, actively expanding its presence in the energy equipment markets of Central Asia, and leveraging the opportunities for trade and economic cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Xinda Transformer Co., Ltd. participated from July 29 to 31, 2026, as part of a delegation led by the Liaocheng Municipal Commerce Bureau on a visit to Kyrgyzstan. Utilizing provincial-level platforms for developing foreign economic and trade relations, the company sought to align its offerings as closely as possible with local needs in energy infrastructure development, as well as to explore new avenues for cross-border investment and trade cooperation.
On July 29, with the active support of the Liaocheng Municipal Commerce Bureau, a symposium on trade and investment between China (Liaocheng) and Kyrgyzstan was successfully held in Bishkek. Representatives from government agencies and key enterprises of both countries attended the event; they exchanged information and discussed opportunities for resource coordination in areas such as infrastructure, energy and electricity, equipment manufacturing, and mutual investment. A company representative, Manager Kong Lingyue, introduced the enterprise's competitive products—particularly transformers and auxiliary equipment for power transmission and distribution—as well as comprehensive system solutions. She also gained detailed insights into Kyrgyzstan's plans for modernizing power grids and implementing new energy projects, conducted substantive cooperation negotiations with a number of local energy-sector companies, and reached preliminary agreements, thereby ensuring successful outcomes for the trip.
On July 30, the delegation participated in the China-SCO Forum on Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation. The event, which brought together representatives from government agencies and business circles of SCO member states, served as a platform for in-depth discussions on topics such as the synergy of regional production chains, cross-border trade, and energy infrastructure. Leveraging the opportunities of this international platform, Xinda Transformer gained a comprehensive understanding of regional trade and economic policies and market access rules in SCO countries; the company discussed cooperation prospects with power service providers and investment organizations from various countries, actively promoted electrical equipment (particularly power transformers) manufactured in Shandong Province, and expanded the horizons of international engagement.
On July 31, in accordance with the schedule, a conference on investment cooperation between the Chinese city of Liaocheng and the Kyrgyz city of Kara-Balta was held in the city administration building. During the event, individual consultations were conducted on practical cooperation, including investments in local industrial parks, organization of production activities, and equipment supplies. Representatives of the Chinese side held substantive negotiations with the relevant local authorities and enterprises of Kara-Balta, assessing the needs for projects on the development of regional energy infrastructure and considering various cooperation models—such as equipment export, post-installation maintenance, and on-site service support—thereby laying a solid foundation for the further implementation of projects.
Kyrgyzstan occupies a strategically important position in Central Asia and is currently accelerating the pace of modernizing its power grids and building new energy facilities. The steadily high demand for power transmission and transformation equipment arising from this aligns perfectly with the core business profile of Xinda Transformer. Participation in the delegation organized by the Liaocheng Municipal Commerce Bureau involved a packed agenda and practical business meetings, enabling the company to effectively establish a direct entry into the Central Asian market.
