2. Design and configuration
Basic design
The oil-filled magnetic core and windings have a corrugated tank. The housing is made of painted cold-rolled steel, offers high corrosion and rust resistance, and is designed for outdoor installation.
Voltage regulation system
An electrically driven on-load tap changer is installed at the top. Provides automatic switching of branches under load and voltage stabilization without turning off the power.
Protection and control
Expansion tank (oil cushion) and oil level indicator on top: oil level control, compensation for thermal expansion and contraction of oil.
Pressure relief valve on the right: Automatically releases excess pressure to prevent tank rupture.
Oil thermometer, oil level indicator and Buchholz relay: continuous monitoring of oil temperature and level, as well as internal equipment damage.
Outdoor control cabinet: integrates the functions of voltage regulation, voltage measurement and protection logic, supports local and remote control.
Insulation and sealing
A fully sealed design with a one-piece corrugated tank prevents moisture absorption and oxidation of transformer oil, extending the service life of insulating materials.
Cooling system
Equipped with corrugated or finned radiators with natural air cooling, it eliminates the need for additional fans, reducing operating costs.
3. Functions and operational features
Main function of voltage stabilization
7-stage load regulation allows maintaining a stable output voltage of 10 kV with line voltage fluctuations within ±7%, guaranteeing the quality of power supply to consumers.
Application in power transmission lines
Designed specifically for long 10 kV distribution lines, it solves problems with high voltage drops and low voltage at the end of the line. It is widely used in mining, rural, and industrial areas with unstable power supplies.
Integrated protection system
It features overvoltage/undervoltage protection, overcurrent protection, Buchholz gas protection, and overheating protection. If a malfunction occurs, an automatic alarm is activated and the equipment is shut down.
Minimal maintenance and long service life
The oil-filled design with copper windings has no quickly wearing mechanical parts. Under normal operation, the service life exceeds 20 years; regular inspection of the transformer oil level and quality is sufficient.
Adaptation to external conditions
IP20/IP23 protection rating allows for outdoor installation. The equipment is resistant to temperature fluctuations, precipitation, and corrosion, and is suitable for use in harsh climates.
4. Additional Technical Notes
The equipment belongs to the SVR series of linear voltage regulators. Unlike conventional distribution transformers, its primary function is to stabilize voltage in a 10 kV line without changing the voltage class, rather than stepping it up or down.
The 7-stage design provides more accurate voltage correction compared to regulators on 3 and 5 taps, ideal for operation in conditions of strong fluctuations in mains voltage.
